That’s me!
I got my start way back in the day volunteering at our communities’ local church. Sat in front of that massive (at the time at least) Mackie console with the little grey square mute buttons at 11 years old and told not to touch anything. By the end I was in full control of that service, and super hooked on it too. Went on to hit the local theater scene, at the community theater and every school in town. Evita, Boeing Boeing, Young Frankenstein, and even the local high school productions of Guys and Dolls. Went on to feel a little cooler and learned the turntables. DJed school dances, mixed local concerts, car shows, parades, and eventually a full business in wedding DJing across the county.
Started Cuesta College at 17, for Jazz Performance and Recording Arts. Managed to pass with flying colors, and a large number of sessions behind the desk by the time I was out. That dumped us all right into the pandemic. Spent those three years recording bands anywhere I could get them to show up. In basements, small apartment rooms, and the halls of a cult commune. Got some of the best recordings of my life during those times.
Once the world cleared up a little, I was contacted by Sweetwater. After not much deliberation, I was off to Indiana! And a master’s course in audio technology.
I was fed every scrap of knowledge in the audio tech industry straight from the firehose, and made to be the experts for the experts. I ran a book of business in the thousands, building systems and selling all the equipment to members of Ghost, Welshly Arms, Prince’s backing band, Dream Theater, and even one of the world’s largest televangelists. After a fairly successful career, a couple failed bands, and a great solo album release, I left to return home to California.
Here we are! And we’re ready to do the thing. Anything that needs to be heard, we’re ready to take on!
